The Coffee Club

Granola Muesli with Yoghurt and Honey

While it was Saturday lunch time on my way to Jungceylon to by all stuff I would need to host my guest this evening, I was thinking about what to eat. Everywhere on Phuket was this Vegetarian Festival, which some hundred years ago the Chinese who wanted to besiege Phuket and lost, going on for 14 days – well not really fourteen days… Some just celebrate just one day and others seem to be lost in their celebration way more than 14 days.

‘Eggs Benedictine’ said a signboard outside of Jungceylon. Well, looking for some breakfast and there comes one of my favourite? Let’s see then how it is!

I had two things to say: My mind was still turning around the dinner this evening and – there comes a marvellous (well, yes in Phuket and for all the tourist) plate with Eggs Benedictine and I immediately started to eat. Sorry for that! And only later I had the idea to write a blog entry about this, because the second platter I had was perfect as well!

The originally Eggs Benedictine I ate first time in Thailand was at one of my nice French hotel we stayed in: ‘Sofitel Silom’ in Bangkok. It was some kind of 4 or 5 star hotel but Novotel pulled in another level and now it is called ‘Pullmann Bangkok Hotel’. I haven’t been lately there but the Eggs Benedictine is still one of my favourites for breakfast. Best for me is the one with smoked salmon on the toast and then poached eggs and Sauce Hollandaise on top of it.

The second choice I have taken afterwards also made its promises come true: the cafe’s own Granola Muesli. It seems so delicious when you look at it, because you get a plate with the muesli on one side, yoghurt with honey of the other side and some milk to pour into it in a small pot besides.

And while I got my hunger slowly stilled, I came to mention about that Phuket is not just the ‘Tourist Hole’ – together with two or three others in Thailand – but is also a very beautiful island with lovely Thai people and relaxed tourist to live their holidays or live their life here.
