After three weeks I decided I would be good enough regarding my accidents to go at last to Sunday morning brunch with some friends. Three weeks ago I could not really move – not out of bed, not to anywhere. And since I knew the brunch at TwinPalms was teriffic, I made sure that this time everything worked.
With brunch starting at noon and ending at 3pm it would be a perfect Sunday mixture of breakfast and lunch giving you all the pleasure you want to have. While on the phone the places we would sit sounded did not sounds good, the manager at the entrance put as in the middle of the restaurant – but three steps higher as the rest and surrounded with seating and the four tables in the middle – where we all felt handled like VIP while the rest just worked as bees around us and we were the three kings.
The TwinPalms had several sections were people could get food: The entry where they offered the inevitable Blood Mary and Italian Prosciutto, seafood bar with oysters (well, not for me – brrr…), sushi and sashimi, crabs and lobster, a huge section of main, the chees and salad section where in the middle we had our places, a Swiss Raclette cheese, and finally the sweets sections with small cake and fresh food.
With three hours on our time tables we had enough time to get everything we want! I can not tell you what the other two eat all along, but I have basically from everything except the oysters a little bit. The white wine, I do think, had been a Thai wine, which was quite good as table wine, and the port wine – we had it directly behind us – did not do anything against not getting a bit tiddly.
As for the end of the brunch, I had my cigar made by Davidoff and given to me by my little brother as a pleasant finish of the afternoon: With a whisky afterwards, sitting on the big lounge of the hotel, and cigar in hand it was a nice and extremely perfect Sunday afternoon.
