If you have been stuck in the Western world and you KNOW which beauty, friendliness and quietness it is to slacken your pace and calm down from the fast and mindless speed at least three times – then you also know how lucky your are that you would be back home again. Well, not really – but at least for the taste of Thai food!
And the right corner to be in such a special place, covered by time and by distances, is a small street kitchen – an Imbiss for sure – in the heart of Frankfurt.

Pad Thai Moo
I can not remember who told me about this place, but I do think during my first or second week in Frankfurt I made my way to look for it.When you are at Konstabler Wache in Frankfurt and see the McDonald’s there, you have already acknowledged that this is the place you have to pass on the way to your Phuket Thai Imbiss. Follow that street to the next corner, turn left and after 300 meters you will see the imbiss.
They do have – other than all the street kitchen you find in Thailand probably – a quite large menu and you as a Farang have to decide what you want to eat. If you are just craving for your next Thai dish, try the Pad Thai and choose the piece of meet or shrimps you want to have with it. They really get the taste of Thailand here, I guess it is the best Thai food so far I ate outside of Thailand and the surrounding countries – except for the cooking of The Chef. And it is really Thai food, absolutely at a price everyone of us can pay.
If you do not find a place to sit for yourself – because it was one of the windy and cold evenings in April – just ask the people at a table where there might be a space for you to sit. I was sitting for example with a nice and friendly Thai lady at her table. She came from Offenbach – with some things to shop – just to eat in this street kitchen.

Phuket Thai Imbiss
Or check out what the Thai people who come here regularly in crowds – you have to rub your eyes because you thought there are no way in Germany so many Thai people – order in their Thai language: Just ask them! They will be happy to help!
Close your eyes when you have the first taste of Thai food in your nose and hear the chatting in Thai from all the people – real Thai people, and some Farang – because this is the place we want to be again – back home in Thailand. (And for those of you who want to know and did not hear from us nearly one year: Yes, we am still alive and kicking!)
