When you had the last couple of days too hot temperatures in Frankfurt, the feeling of a just warm day on a sunny Tuesday on your skin is great now! And while normally I am the one you looks for nice and not so expensive food one of my colleague showed me the website in the Internet about “Pizzeria Montana“.

Pizzeria Montana
So the second time the colleagues to me with them on their second visit. The trick that this pizzeria plays is very simple: The have a hand made oven with 450° Celsius and every pizza needs only 1 minute to get ready one time in there. The pizza has three prices: 5.90€ – 7.90€ – 9.90€ + 1 soft drink or a beer (by the way: doo git’s au Zäpfle us Rothuus!) for 2 Euro more!
You order your pizza and your Zäpfle – well, yes Arnd, also bubbling water, get a beeper to give you a beep when your pizza will be ready and check for a place on the simple but nice tables and wait… until your pizza is ready for you to fetch.

Pizza Fennel Salami
A simple but very good Italian dough, made with Italian flour, a nice Itailan tomato sauce and normally Mozzarella or Mozzarella di Buffalo.
The second time I have been there today I decided for a ‘Funghi White’: A pizza with cream, Fontina – a cheese from the Aosta Valley – fresh white mushrooms and mint.
While even the cheese Fontina is not very often seen or tasted north of the Alps this pizza was really something special and will for sure to be a reason to be here a couple of times a year.
Great pizzas, a nice bottle of Zäpfle and just a bit small talk during your lunch time. And this for 11.90€ – not so bad within the banking area of Frankfurt.
