What a beautiful day today! Still the sun is not burning down from the sky and maybe today we will just have a nice day and it will not be hot, or ‘ron’ as you ask a Thai: ‘Ron mag mag’, was their usual answer over the last few days.
What I normally do on a breakfast morning, I go to one of the street kitchen that are already open. Or, I will wait a bit and read and check emails because the pork noodle I have told you about are gorgeous and they open only around 10.30am.
American Breakfast
But sometimes – sometimes I want to have a Western kind of breakfast. Well, not the ‘allemanische’ kind of breakfast with ‘braegel’. What I also can not get here is just a very nice breakfast we had everyday at home: bread rolls and croissant, butter and some cold cuts and cheese. And from my own perfect coffee machine a perfect cappuccino! <Schnief!>
The best I can get in Patong Beach is an American Breakfast for a normal day. True! I do know in some exclusive hotels here in Phuket where the best ‘room’ is a villa with 4 rooms for three hundred thousands of Bath per night I probably I could call the butler and tell him what I want to have for breakfast.
Coffee and Orange Juice
So, one of the regular nice places is Aquarius Guesthouse in Patong Beach. You can choose between American Breakfast,
Continental Breakfast (well…) and Thai breakfast. With the American Breakfast you can choose between coffee or tea, orange juice and for the two eggs boiled, scrambled, fried or an omelet. Because everyone knows me here, I get my omelet as I want to: with onion, cut tomatoes and cheese. And because one cup of coffee is not enough for Loog Moo, I get later two more slices of toast and a second coffee or an orange juice.

And after you have had your eggs and toast with ham, sausages, bacon and cheese the waiter comes and places a nice small bowl of yogurt and some pieces of whatever fresh fruits they could get their hands on.
So, now it is 9:30am. You had a nice breakfast prepared by the friendly staff of Aquarius and you have to decide what you want to do with your day. Or maybe you just decide to stay and read – and wait until the owners come down from their rooms upstairs. Yes, Paul, that is what I do now: After breakfast I will sit back, read my book and wait for your Grace to come down.
